Description
Roadrunners Helping Roadrunners
The Student
Emergency Fund provides critical financial assistance to Roadrunners facing
unexpected hardships. Whether due to housing insecurity, medical
emergencies, domestic violence, childcare needs, or the loss of a family member,
this fund helps students cover essential expenses during difficult times.
Created in
response to Hurricane Harvey and expanded during the COVID-19
pandemic, the fund has provided relief for students struggling with natural
disasters, unexpected medical bills, and other emergencies. Thanks to generous
donations from students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff, Roadrunners
in need receive immediate support when they have nowhere else to turn.
"Returning
from Thanksgiving break, I found my apartment had caught fire. The funds I
received helped me buy clothes and shoes to get through winter break with my
family."
– Senior, UTSA student
"My wife and
I are international graduate students, expecting our first child. The emergency
funds were a huge relief since our support system is far away and unable to
help financially."
– Third-year graduate student
This year, Senior
Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students LT Robinson is making
the Student Emergency Fund the centerpiece of her cosplay challenge!
·
25 donors: She will cosplay a student-chosen character at the end of the semester.
·
50 donors: She will reveal a surprise cosplay during Roadrunner Days!
Every gift—big or
small—makes a difference. Join us in helping as many students as possible.
