Support Study Abroad at UTSA!
As future global
leaders, students need to feel at home in a fast-changing world. By studying abroad, they experience new
perspectives, learn how to navigate different cultures, work with diverse
peers, and communicate in other languages. These are skills that will prepare
UTSA students to solve the world’s toughest challenges in their chosen fields
and make them more competitive in the 21st century workforce. Students who study abroad say it is a life
transforming experience. It opens their eyes and fuels their ambition. They
believe they can do more than they ever could after an experience in another
culture.
At UTSA, students
can study, intern, or volunteer in another country while earning academic
credit and developing skills that enable them to compete in the 21st century
workforce. Students return more adaptable, independent, and better able to
overcome challenges, all essential skills in work and life.
Studies show 97% of
students who study abroad find employment within 12 months of graduation and
25% earn higher salaries than their peers (CIEE.org, 2025). Study abroad is an
important piece of UTSA's Strategic Plan, which aims for 75% or more of our
students to participate in experiential learning before graduation.
Donating to study abroad scholarships helps UTSA students with financial need to participate in a study, intern, or volunteer abroad experience to build important skills and knowledge for their career and personal development. For our first Giving Day, gifts from 40 donors will unlock $1,000 to support life-changing study abroad opportunities. Will you help us unlock these funds?
