Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about UTSA Giving Day 2022.

What is UTSA Giving Day?

UTSA Giving Day is an online event that celebrates the university by encouraging all members of the UTSA community – students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and friends - to support areas of campus that are important to them, hopefully financially, but also through sharing the event on social media/via email/text.

When is UTSA Giving Day?

April 19-20, 2022, will be the 2nd annual UTSA Giving Day. For 1,969 minutes—or 32 hours, 49 minutes—we will collectively focus on “building the nest” through fundraising and engagement. UTSA Giving Day will begin at 10:11 am on Tuesday, April 19 and will end at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.

Why does alumni and donor support on UTSA Giving Day matter?

Every investment, no matter how large or small, is important. Your support helps our students and graduates succeed so they can enrich our communities.  When you give to UTSA, you help keep higher education accessible. Tuition and fees alone do not cover the full cost of educating a student. UTSA is a public university, however, state appropriations cover only about 24 percent of our operating budget.

Alumni giving each year is one of the factors used to rank UTSA in publications. It signifies that you are satisfied with the faculty and the education you received. When you give every year, you help generate recognition for UTSA that could increase the value of your degree.

If I donate before UTSA Giving Day will my gift still count?

Unless otherwise specified, only donations made between 10:11 a.m. CDT on April 19, 2022, through 7:00 p.m. CDT on April 20, 2022, will count for participation on UTSA Giving Day.
