The Spirit of San Antonio Marching Band (SOSA) represents the heart of The University of Texas at San Antonio as their powerful sound echoes from campus to the Alamodome and far beyond! Students from every college at UTSA participate in SOSA, performing for athletic events, university functions, Fiesta San Antonio parades, and many other community events.
Did you know that band uniforms should typically be replaced every 5-7 years? SOSA has been donning the same uniforms for a 14 years.
Why Replace? Whether they're performing on gameday, in parades, or at any event representing our community, we want SOSA to look their absolute best. And in order for SOSA to grow and accommodate all 250+ members, additional uniforms are needed.
How You Can Help Each new uniform costs $500 per student, and with your support on Giving Day, we can start the process of replacing all uniforms. When you think about it, that's just $40 per month over the next year to provide a deserving student with a new uniform. Additionally, donors at this level will receive special benefits, including sideline access at the opening UTSA football game next season to see SOSA debut their new uniforms.
Gifts of all levels on Giving Day when added together will make this goal possible. Your contribution during this period will count towards exciting matches and challenges, amplifying the impact of your generosity. For example, the first 40 donors who give $500 or more to SOSA will unlock a $20,000 match!
