The UTSA Student Government Association (SGA) has partnered with Wellbeing Services since 2018 to reduce the stigma around menstruation and provide free menstrual hygiene products to students.
Through this partnership, three new dispensers for menstrual hygiene products were added to the Main Campus and in just three semesters, Wellbeing Services has been able to provide over 1000 menstrual hygiene products to students who needed them.
Representatives of SGA are proud of their efforts and look forward to continuing to assist Wellbeing Services with providing for students.
“Period poverty is a serious issue facing college students and if we can aid in providing assistance for this basic human need as student body representatives then we will continue to educate and support this cause across campus with our peers”
Zachary Nepote, SGA President 23- 24
“Women’s health is human health, and human health is a #1 priority.”
Aydan Villareal, Chief of Staff 23-24
Wellbeing Services is excited by SGA and Honor Alliance’s commitment to support their efforts in providing menstrual hygiene products on campus.
