The Graduate School

The Graduate School has a goal to strategically grow interdisciplinary graduate programs in niche areas and provide funding to doctoral students to ensure that UTSA is able to maintain NRUF and Carnegie R1 research designation.

Your gift will enable UTSA to recruit the highest quality research faculty and students to produce research and scholarship that will establish UTSA’s reputation as a premier research institution, and increase its national and international reputation and rankings, while also greatly benefiting the San Antonio community and partners.

Gifts for The Graduate School help recruit top students and postdocs who are working on critical discoveries, like Courtney, who has successfully completed her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology this past Fall 2022. Courtney is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Neuroscience, Developmental and Regenerative Biology department, and is doing brain health research related to the COVID-19 virus and its effects on pregnant mothers and their babies.  As she continues to look to the future, this native New Yorker and U.S. Army Reserve captain has also reflected on the help from generous organizations that have provided her scholarship and fellowship support along the way. “Because of these donors that we can conduct this research, which will hopefully lead to impactful discoveries,” she said. “The donations are really important to advancing science with the goal of ultimately helping humanity.”
